Brad Paisley Concert

Saturday night James and I had date night! My parents were in town so they stayed with Kimber so we could have a night out. My grandparents got us tickets to the Brad Paisley concert so it was actually a planned date. We decided to go big! We had dinner at Touche before heading to the concert which started at 7:30 pm. When we got to Touche we were so excited to arrive early enough for their Early Menu and happy hour!! I wasn't too excited about having dinner so early because I did not care about getting to the concert right at 7:30 to see Scotty McCreery perform. But much to my surprise he was really good.

At Touche, we ordered off of their 3 course meal. Since we are eating healthy we asked for a salad, appetizer and entree instead of getting dessert...I was shocked they let us. I had humus, spinach salad and the beef medallions for $16.95 and James had calamari, Touche salad and the 8 ounce fillet for $23.95. When sat in the dining area but I asked about Happy Hour anyway and they offered us one drink each at the happy hour price which is only offered in the bar. I will have to say this is by far my favorite restaurant in Springfield for both food and service.

We left about 6:45 to get to the concert, highlights from the night...
1. Scotty McCreery was way better than I expected him to be. His voice is so mature for a 17 year old.
2. The Band Perry was good and I learned that they are siblings. (I didn't know much about them)
3. Brad is AMAZING!! He is a wonderful and talented artist.
4. Never fall for a hologram! He used a hologram of Carrie Underwood and from where we were setting she looked real.

Reasons why Brad is an AMAZING person...
1. Autographed a guitar and gave to a little boy
2. Grabbed a girls phone/camera and said "let's make a video" of him singing

No wonder he wins "Performer of the Year"!!

Lessons learned...
1. Never park in the parking garage.
2. If you do, back into your space because if you don't people will not let you back out.
3. Spend the extra money and sit in the first level seats. Not the cheap upper level seats. This was our first concert at The Q Arena to set that high up and we hated it.
4. Don't forget your good camera. I only had my iPhone and I did not get good pictures but it did awesome for videos.

Other than that we had a fabulous night!!

Here is the video of Carrie and Brad singing. In the video she looks like lights but in person (from where we were sitting it looked so real).

Keeping Up with Kimber - 11 Weeks

Looking beautiful for her 11 Week photo shoot! If you notice she is always kicking her legs, they go go go! I think she looks so adorable in this dress!

So serious in the next two pictures.

Just hanging out while mom takes way too many pictures.

Of course I have to include tummy time pictures.

Pinterest Recipe - Cookies and Creme Rice Krispie Treats

I'm a little behind on posting but I wanted to share these delicious rice krispie treats we made. I say "we" because I found the recipe and my husband made them. He said that he would just make them because he knew I would ask too many questions!! If you are following a diet you should not read any further!

Recipe from Cooking Classy -

Ingredients:
1/4 cup salted butter
1 (10.5) oz bag mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
10 oreos, chopped into bits (about the size of pebbles, there will be powder too), about 1 cup
1 1/3 cups white chocolate chips
6 oreos, chopped into bits (about the size of pebbles), about 1/2 cup

Directions:
Butter a 13 x 9 pan, set aside.  Melt butter in a large non-stick saucepan over medium low heat, swirling butter up along edges of the pan (this helps the marshmallows stick much less).  Stir in marshmallows and stir constantly until melted.  Remove from heat and gently stir in Rice Krispies cereal, stir until evenly coated.  Fold in 10 chopped oreos.  Pour mixture into buttered dish.  Using a buttered spatula or greased hands gently press mixture evenly into dish, set aside.  In a microwave safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips on 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth.  Spread melted chocolate evenly over Rice Krispie Treats and immediately (before chocolate hardens) sprinkle with 6 chopped oreos.  Cover and refrigerate about 10 minutes, or alternately let rest on counter until chocolate hardens (it just takes longer).  Cut into 18 squares.

Weekly Randoms

Cuddling with my precious baby girl!
She was telling me about her day, which is the best part of my day. When I get home she "talks" to me for about an hour straight. I just love it!

This is totally random...but who displays heads in their front yard.

LOVE my new wallpaper for my phone! I'm obsessed with chevron print (as is everyone else)
I got the print from Oops, I Craft My Pants!
I went with Mint since that is the hot color for spring!!

Face Time! (even though my sister did not want to be in the picture herself)
One of the many awesome features on my iPhone 4S

Enjoying the Weather

It's a beautiful day in Springfield, Missouri!!! During lunch I took advantage of the 60 degree weather and went for a walk. I have to exercise every chance I get because this tire/fat roll and these thunder thighs have to go. I did miss taking little Miss Kimber with me.

Look at my cute dress pants with tennis shoes!!

Kimber's 2 Month Check-up

I forgot to mention Kimber's stats in her two month blog post yesterday. I forget things so easily (now I understand why my mom never remembers things!).
Weight - 11.6
Head Size - 15.25 inches
Length - 23 inches

She is in the 50 percentile for weight and 75 percentile for head size and length. They were surprised she did not gain more weight than that since she was 9.3 pounds at birth.

Development Milestone Accomplishments -
bringing her hands together in front of her face, smiling, saying argh and grunting...just making vocal sounds, staring to recognize us when we walk into a room and holding her head up

She is staring to sleep through night for about seven hours and skipping her 2 am feeding. We are so lucky she sleeps through the night!!! She is still sleeping in our room because I am not ready for her to be away from me. I guess I have separation anxiety.

Keeping Up with Kimber - 10 Weeks Old

She is getting so big!! People can't believe she is 2 months when they ask "How old is she?" You can see in the first picture how well she is doing holding her head up. When I am holding her I rarely have to support her head because she is so strong.

For a 10 week old, she had a very busy week.
• Monday - I went back to work so she did not have her mommy. (such a sad day)
• Tuesday - She had her 2 month check up and received 5 shots. (another sad day)
• Wednesday - Started using a binky.
• Friday - First trip to the grocery store.
Waiting on the nurse to give her four shots in the leg and she had to drink one. This cracks me up because you would think she knows she is getting shots but she really has no idea.

We were both worn out so we had to nap! I miss cuddling with her every day.
Playing before I left for work! I wake up at 5:00 am just so I have time with her.
Sleeping while we shop. She was so good!

I am really not upset that she using a binky. She has been going to town on her fist and I could tell she just could not figure out how to soothe herself. Here is a picture of her on Saturday sucking on the binky. We were out running errands and she was fighting falling asleep. So I just popped it in her mouth and she was out in seconds!

I miss her so much during the day, I drive over the speed limit to see her. I know I am careful because I don't want something to happen but I am just so excited to get home!

First Day Back at Work

Today may have been one of my hardest days...I had to go back to work. I started crying about an hour before I left and cried the whole way there. Which was a little difficult since the weather was horrible making the roads slick. It was rough leaving my cutie pie.

Keeping Up with Kimber - 2 Months

Kimber turned TWO months old today. It has been the best two months of my life. She is so much fun and I can't explain the LOVE I have for her.
I got this bow for her today but I think her head needs to grow into it!

What did we do to celebrate? We went SHOPPING! Look at how HAPPY she is!
I bought her the hair bow, leg warmers for her valentine's day outfit, and a dress!
Shopping wore this baby out...

Last week of Maternity Leave

I go back to work on Monday:(. I'm ready for adult conversation but not 40 hours of it. I wish I could go to part time but that's not an option. My mother-in-law will be taking care of Kimber so I won't be too stressed!

I am going to miss this face.

Pinterest Projects - Entry Way Shelf

So I put my husband to work! No, he asked me if I had any projects for him since he had some extra time while Kimber and I were visiting my parents. He likes to stay busy and finds cooking and building things relaxing. Crazy I know!
