Catching Up - Part 2

Kimber started dance class on September 12th at a new studio in town called Dance Canvas Performing Arts. Thankfully the owner/teacher let Kimber join the class because Kimber was 20 months and the class was for two to four year olds. We struggled at first with being shy but two months later she started going into the studio by herself! Now she absolutely LOVES dance and Ms. Whitney!

Halloween - James wanted to carve a pumpkin so he thought a pirate would be fun for Kimber since she was into Jake and the Neverland Pirates at the time. I don't know about that....lol

Look at the adorable little Bubble Bee!! She loved the costume and even wore it several times after Halloween.

For a month, she became obsessed with bikes and ask for one every single day. I planned on getting her one for Christmas but her daddy insisted on giving it to her early. We got her a pink Striderider which is a balance bike.

James' cousin is involved with the Springfield Little Theater and is very talented. This fall, she played Ariel in the Little Mermaid so we decided to take Kimber. We were nervous on how she would do but she LOVED it. Now Ariel is her favorite Disney Princess!

James and I went to the Chiefs game when they played the Broncos. The weather was perfect and we had a great time tailgating with James' best friend from high school and his wife.

Since we are in a new house and Kimber is old enough to enjoy Christmas lights, we put lights on the house!

We celebrated Kimber's second birthday at our house this year (more room!). She loves Minnie and the Mickey Mouse Club show so we went with a Minnie Mouse theme!

The morning of her birthday, we made mini pancakes and put candles in them!!

I'll end this update post with her 2013 picture with Santa! That's right...she did not shed one tear!

More to come.....

Catching Up with the Haik's - Part 1

Wow, it has been almost a year since I have posted on here. I did say Merry Christmas but that doesn't say much about what has been going on with the Haik's! And a lot has happened in a year...

Let's go back to February of 2013...we went to Ireland with my bestie and her boyfriend and another couple that has become very good friends of ours.

Wearing our green for St. Patrick's day!

This is my bestie, Casey, getting up after her boyfriend, Jordan, proposed after she kissed the Blarney Stone!

Ireland was AMAZING! The four pictures I just posted does not do it justice. We hope to go back one day!

Next up is Kimber took Mommy and Me swim lessons at the YMCA!

We enjoyed A LOT of custard from Andy's throughout the summer!

We enjoyed...especially Kimber...many weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks. This girl is like a fish!

The biggest event that happened was we put our first house together, the one we brought Kimber home to, up for sale. It sold within two or three months and we found our next house, in the neighborhood we wanted within a month of having to move out. The house we bought never hit the market, we called a realtor on another house and he said he was getting ready to list a house so it was meant to be!

Our first house together...I did shed tears as we walked out for the last time.

The NEW house!!
These pictures were taken before we moved in.

I have more so stay tuned......

1st Swim Lesson and Going Under

Such a big girl...didn't even cry after going under water for her first time! We are so proud of her.
Look closely at how BIG her eyes get!

Before we left the house, I dressed in her cover-up but she would not let me put her down.

Warming up to the area and playing before our lesson began.

She claimed a toy and thought it was her reward.
She threw a fit when we had to put it away.

Kimber - 17 Months

It has been a long time since I have blogged. We have been busy and I recently realized I have not been documenting anything about Kimber since she turned 1. I'm kinda sad about it. I thought I would do a quick post about her turning 17 months, I don't have her stats but I can share some cute things about her!

She is really at a fun age right now. I just love interacting with her and watching her learn. She is so sweet and full of energy.
  • She only has 4 teeth and the fifth one has broke through the skin but not showing much.
  • Loves to learn about animals. She can point to a dog and bark as well as point to a cow a moo.
  • Her favorite phrase is "Where's at"
  • Talking - her favorite is shoes! She says momma and dadda, hi, she has said elmo, ouch, cheese, yes, chicken (more of just the sound)
  • She loves to play outside, ride in her wagon, go on runs with us, and play with her baby, tea set, and loving books more and more. She also loves to play ball.
  • This week she has learned to climb and stand on things. We looked over one night and she was standing on her table. Not cool!
  • She follows directions and will answer our questions. So awesome we can communicate with her!
  • She sports a fountain ponytail on her head most of the time! She has the cutest curls.
The best thing is to listen to her giggle...it is the cutest! (ignore me at the beginning)

Kimber Lately - 14 Months

Kimber turned 14 months on February 9th! Crazy I know. She still only has two teeth and has a ton of hair. She is rocking the cutest baby mullet! She is very social, we can't go anywhere without her winning over everyone she sees. She smiles and waves at people non-stop.

Accomplishments for this month -
1. Following instructions - helping pick up her toys and bringing me the items I ask for.
2. Talking on the phone
3. Signing the Itsy Bitsy Spider - new favorite song
4. Shrugging her shoulders
5. Throwing away her trash
6. Cleaning!! Her new favorite thing is to "dust" everything!
7. Trying to speak actual words
8. Points at a dog and makes barking noises! (actually she thinks every animal barks!)
