Playing with Sophia the Giraffe

I would say that Sophia the Giraffe is Kimber's favorite toy. If you have an infant you would probably agree. There is something about the way it feels, smells, and looks with the polka dots that kids love. When Kimber is upset or we need to occupy her we always turn to Sophia. In this video you can see how much fun she has with Sophia!

Spending the Day with Nana & Papa

A couple of weeks ago, I believe Father's Day weekend, my parents came down to spend the weekend with us so I could hang out with my dad. While I was at work on that Friday, this is what they were up to....

My 28th Birthday

On June 8th I turned the big 28! I really don't feel older but I guess you can say mature since I am a mom now. We actually got a group of our friends together and went out for the night. We went to Big Whiskey's and Parlor 88. We had a great time and I think my husband thought it was his birthday! I don't blame him since we really did not get to celebrate his 30th birthday.

I wore the coral dress James got me! I thought it looked good on me but I question it in the pictures.

Kimber is SIX Months

Kimber thought the paper on the doctor's table was so much fun! On June 4th Kimber had her SIX month check-up and got another round of shots. She actually turned six months on June 9th. She weighed in at 14.8 pounds. As you have read we had already started her on rice cereal so her pediatrician was happy to hear that and gave us the go to start her on foods.

Kimber...you are so full of energy and keep us on our toes! You think our faces and hair are the best toys, you love to look around to know what is going, smile when we smile at you, love to fake cough, blow raspberries, and pat everything. You are a little social butterfly, you love to interact with people and people watch. You have an obsession with your feet...you play with them all the time and don't like it when I make you wear shoes because you can't get to your toes! You also love to "talk".

Kimber was taking a bath!


After giving her a bath in the sink at the lake house and her playing in her pool, we decided it was time to upgrade her to a fun bath tub instead of her infant lounger type thing we were using. She absolutely loves it!

 Harvard has been so good about not jumping in the glider but for some reason he had to be up there on night. James is his best friend and he has to be where ever he is!

Kimber loves to pet (pull) Harvard! She gets so excited when she sees him.

Memorial Weekend

For Memorial Weekend we always go to Lake of the Ozarks. I have been doing this since I was two and now I plan to continue with Kimber. We had a great time and the weather was awesome. It was actually HOT and the water felt great! Little Miss played in her pool and was mostly inside. You will see by the pictures she was not a fan of the life jacket. It was HUGE on her. I might try looking for a different one.

We just ruined her life by putting on the life jacket! She is so upset but it's pretty cute. (I think she freaked out because it is boy colors!)

First Time in the High Chair

Kimber absolutely loved being in her high chair. She thought she was such a big girl. We started out putting her in it while we ate to let her get used to it before we started feeding her rice cereal.

It turned into a game for her. We would put toys on the tray for her to play but she would just knock/drop them on the floor. I think she liked to listen for it to hit the ground because she would pause and wait for to hit and squint her eyes when it would hit the floor. Silly girl!

In the two videos you can see that she loves to shake her head, roll around and scoot backwards. I know she wants to crawl so badly.
 

My First Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day. I went to my parent's house for the weekend to spend time with my mom but before we left James gave me my gift from Kimber which was two pair of sandals that I really wanted and then my parents and sister gave me a cute charm bracelet that said "you make me smile". It's true, Kimber really does make me smile!

Keeping Up with Kimber - 23-24 Weeks

I am going to combine both of these weeks since so much happened and these two weeks went by so fast.

Kimber accomplished a lot this week...sitting up with no support for a long time, sitting in her high, eating rice cereal before bed, pushing up on her arms, pushing herself backwards, and shaking her head.

In her high chair...she loves to throw all her toys off however the spatula was the only thing she would hold on to.

The first night we gave it her she only took a few bites but the second night she wanted more and more. She would smack the tray until I would give her more. I know you are not suppose to start until six months but she was starting to wake up earlier and earlier every day so I knew it was time...just one of those motherly instincts I guess.
